Caterpillar fit a range of heavy duty starter motors and alternators to their diesel engines. The most common are Delco Remy, Denso, Bosch and Prestolite. Delco Remy are renowned for their heavy duty brushless alternators. Denso supply Caterpillar with a compact range of alternator and starter motor usually for their smaller range of diesel engine machines.

Prestolite manufacture and supply a wide range of heavy-duty alternators and starter motors.  All starters produced by Prestolite are planetary gear reduction.The main range being the heavy-duty Titan starter motors. The alternator comprises of a range of high output units with a variety of different mounting options.
