CAV (C.A. Vandervell) was a major British manufacturer of electrical components for automotive and industrial engines, widely used in commercial vehicles, agricultural machinery, marine engines, and military applications. Alternators, Dynamo’s and Starter motors were produced. Starters were all direct drive axial and co-axial varieties. Alternators are both external and internally regulated. These units are not available anymore

Prestolite manufacture and supply a wide range of heavy-duty alternators and starter motors.  All starters produced by Prestolite are planetary gear reduction.The main range being the heavy-duty Titan starter motors. The alternator comprises of a range of high output units with a variety of different mounting options.
